Wishing Residents a Happy 2018

Wishing Residents a Happy 2018

RRA Committee wish everyone a very happy and prosperous New Year.   We are excited about 2018 and the positive changes that we expect to see in Roedean and Cliff.

New parking Restrictions are already in force on Roedean Road and there has been a dramatic reduction in coach and HGV parking here.   Residents can help ensure these new restrictions are enforced by contacting the BHCC parking team whenever you see an illegally parked vehicle.   Call 0345 603 5469 and select option 2.  BHCC state that they aim to attend within one hour between the hours of 8am to 8pm.

RRA have successfully raised nearly £5000 towards a fund to pay for professional planning consultant services in our effort to stop BHCC from including the Pitch and Putt Golf Course as a potential housing development site.   RRA will continue to closely monitor the situation and campaign against any and all development here.   Residents who have not yet donated can do so by direct debit by following this link and scrolling to the bottom of the page PitchandPuttAppeal

Roedean’s Neighbourhood Watch Scheme is a year old and helping to keep our neighbourhood safer.   We encourage all residents to join by following this link RRAneighbourwoodwatch

Our new website RoedeanRA.org.uk is also thriving after 7 months on the airwaves.   We look forward to your feedback regarding this important local resource;  please write to RRA@kmrl.co.uk

RRA is continuing to monitor local planning applications with the aim to ensure that future planning consent does not damage the unique and special nature or our neighbourhood.   Local interest and involvement is an essential part of this process and so we will publish links to all major BHCC planning applications in our area and encourage residents to comment where appropriate. RRA Committee is developing a relationship with the South Downs National Park authority and BHCC Rangers department in an attempt to ensure that the special nature of the Downs on our door step is enhanced and protected for all of us enjoying them today and for generations in the future.  To read more about SDNP follow this link SDNP

The success of RRA relies on the enthusiasm and involvement of local people.  If you would like to join the committee or contribute in any other way please contact the Chairman by e-mail jonathan@jnbroedean.com
